Fresno County Supervisor Judy Case Endorses Bob Whalen for Assembly

Monday, July 13, 2009

(Clovis) – Today, popular Fresno County Supervisor Judy Case announced her support for Clovis City Councilmember Bob Whalen who is running for the 29th Assembly district.

“In the debate over higher taxes and more spending, Bob Whalen has consistently come down on the side of California taxpayers,” said Supervisor Case. “That’s why I trust Bob Whalen to fight for lower taxes and real budget cuts in Sacramento. Bob Whalen will work to produce a fiscally healthy, balanced state budget without tax increases. That’s exactly the type of leadership we need in the Assembly and I am proud to support him.”

Supervisor Case represents Fresno County’s 4 District, where she has established a reputation as a tough fiscal manager and friend of the taxpayer.

A fourth-generation Clovis resident, Bob Whalen was first elected to the City Council in March 2003, and, in 2009, completed his service as Clovis Mayor under the rotating mayor system.

Clovis City Councilman and Fresno County Deputy District Attorney Bob Whalen has earned a reputation as a ‘tough on crime’ advocate and ‘friend of the taxpayer’ who has been a champion for small business growth. In March 2009, Bob Whalen was the lone councilman who advocated the defeat of Measure A, which would have raised local taxes.

As a Deputy District Attorney, Whalen has successfully prosecuted hundreds of criminals, including those who prey on our children.
