Fresno County Assessor Bob Werner Adds His Endorsement for State Assembly Candidate Bob Whalen

Thursday, November 12, 2009

(Clovis) – Today, the Fresno County Assessor/Recorder Bob Werner added his name to a growing list of supporters for Clovis Councilman Bob Whalen’s State Assembly campaign. Whalen is seeking the GOP nomination for the open 29th Assembly District, where incumbent Assemblyman Mike Villines is vacating the seat to run for California Insurance Commissioner.

“I have been honored to know Bob both personally and professionally for many years, and I have been impressed with his integrity, depth of understanding, and diligence. I can think of no one who would do a better job representing our district in Sacramento and opposing the high taxes and runaway spending that is not only hurting our businesses and families, but also crippling our county budget,” said County Assessor Bob Werner. “While I would hate to lose Bob locally, we need someone like Bob Whalen in Sacramento who will fight to clean up the budget mess and restore community values and common sense. I encourage every voter to support Bob Whalen for Assembly. Our future depends on it.”

A graduate of California State University, Fresno and a U.S. Navy veteran, Bob Werner is a lifelong resident of Fresno County. He was first elected to serve as Assessor in 2002.

Clovis City Councilman and Fresno County Deputy District Attorney Bob Whalen has earned a reputation as a ‘friend of the taxpayer’ and a champion for small business growth. He has been endorsed by dozens of local elected officials in his campaign for the open 29th Assembly District.
