(Clovis) – Today, Fresno Councilmember and U.S. Navy Lt. Commander Larry Westerlund announced his support for Bob Whalen in his bid for the Republican nomination for the 29th Assembly District.
“Bob Whalen has stood strong in defense of taxpayers, and we know he’ll continue the fight in Sacramento for a leaner, fiscally responsible government that doesn’t raise our taxes,” said Councilmember Westerlund. “Bob has also dedicated his career to keeping our streets safe, and you can count on Bob Whalen to fight for tough laws that keep hardened criminals behind bars. I’m glad to add my name to his list of endorsers.”
Larry Westerlund is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserve and a former Tulare County Deputy District Attorney. Councilmember Westerlund is also a member of the Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the Redevelopment Agency (RDA), and the Marine Corps Memorial Association, among others.
Clovis City Councilman and Fresno County Deputy District Attorney Bob Whalen has earned a reputation as a ‘tough on crime’ advocate and ‘friend of the taxpayer’ who has been a champion for small business growth.
