(Clovis, CA) – Today, Fresno City Councilman Andreas Borgeas added his name to the growing list of supporters for Fresno County Deputy District Attorney and Clovis City Councilman Bob Whalen, who is running for California’s 29th Assembly District.

“Bob Whalen has been a strong voice against higher taxes and against government waste,” said Councilman Borgeas.  “Voters want action now to balance our state budget and stop the spending spree.  Bob Whalen is the candidate whom I believe will fight to help get the job done, and that’s why I support him.”

Widely considered a rising star in Fresno County Republican politics, Andreas Borgeas first won his City Council seat in 2008 and has since earned a reputation as tough on public spending and a friend of the taxpayer.  He joins Sheriff Margaret Mims, Fresno County Supervisor Judy Case , Fresno County Assessor/Recorder Bob Werner, Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Larry Powell, Father of the Three Strikes Law Mike Reynolds, Clovis City Councilmember Nathan Magsig, former Fresno County Supervisors Stan Oken and Doug Vagim, Orange Cove City Council Members Glenda Hill, Esther Gonzalez, and Gilbert Garcia and many others in supporting Bob Whalen for Assembly.

Clovis City Councilman and Fresno County Deputy District Attorney Bob Whalen is a proven “tough on crime” leader, a “friend of the taxpayer”, and a champion for small business growth.  Whalen is widely considered the frontrunner for the Republican nomination in the 29th Assembly District.
